The transmission is the component of the vehicle that provides controlled application of power supplied by the engine. The transmission reduces the higher engine speed to the slower wheel speed, increasing the torque in the process. Transmissions have multiple gear ratios or gears with the ability to switch between them as speed varies.
Stick shifts are complex. When problems arise, it takes a fair amount of expertise to diagnose the fault.

Rebuilding a transmission takes time. The transmission must be removed, disassembled, parts purchased and reassembled and installed back in the vehicle. This may take 3 to 5 days.
Remanufactured Transmission
- Transmission rebuilt at a factory
- Replace all worn internal parts
- Comes with 36-month 100,000 mile to 500,000-mile warranty depending on the supplier
